Treatment outcome on pulmonary tuberculosis and extra pulmonary tuberculosis in government general hospital, ongole

Background: Tuberculosis is a global disease leading to cause death worldwide. The Revised National Control Programme (RNTCP), Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS), was launched reduce tuberculosis mortality, improve patient adherence treatment, and prevent the development of drug resistance. aim this study treatment outcome tuberculosis. an important indication control programme.
 Methodology: An ambispective observational conducted in government general hospital from August 2019 January 2020 on outcomes PTB EPTB 15 years older age group, both males females, category I regimens. Patients with comorbidities like HIV, diabetes, social habits smoking were included. Record based TB diagnosed data (August 2020) are taken asses their after 6months complete therapy. recorded collected analysed evaluate success rate for EPTB.
 Results: A total 350 subjects enrolled study, which 311 included 39 excluded due incomplete data. group above where 218(70.10%) females 93(29.90%). Total pulmonary cases 277 (89.07%), extrapulmonary 34 (10.93%). Subjects HIV 48(15.43%), Diabetes 54(17.37%) Tobacco 85(27.33%). observed as follows: cured 144 (46.30%), completed 98 (31.51%), transfer out 10 (3.21%), died 27 (8.69%), failure 7 (2.26%), lost follow-up 14 (4.50%), regimen changed 11 (3.53%). At end found be 78%.
 Conclusion: This shows that patients' 78%, slightly less than RNTCP norms. 8% higher national average. Perhaps services need case detection patients, while cure rates have improved RNTCP. enrolment very low, whereas referral system has its services. So may increase number. early enhance patients.
